Stokes Tea and Coffee has been trading in Lincoln since 1902, founded by Robert William Stokes and now in its fourth generation under managing director Nick Peel. The business operates 3 cafes in Lincolnshire: The Lawn at their Union Road headquarters (where roasting takes place), the High Bridge Cafe on Lincoln High Street which opened in 1937, and a newer site in Newark where a second roaster is installed. Beyond retail and cafe trade, Stokes runs a wholesale supply business and a barista training academy. They source through importers with direct farm connections and have donated to Project Waterfall, a charity providing clean water to coffee-growing communities. The company uses Rainforest Alliance-certified suppliers among others.
