Joe, the founder, is a pilot. He spent years tracking down good coffee in airports and layover cities before deciding to roast it himself. Altitude Coffee London is based in Hornchurch and has picked up six Great Taste Awards between 2021 and 2024. They source through Mercanta, a specialty importer with 25 years in the trade, and pay twice the Fairtrade price to producers. All packaging is plastic-free, made from plant starch including the zip lock and valve. Every bag carries a roasted-on date and is shipped within 48 hours of ordering. They sell online with subscriptions available.
