Kontema G1
Coffee was discovered in Ethiopia. This one, grown at 3,000 metres in the Sidama region, is a reminder of what the very best Ethiopian lots are capable of. Grade 1 is the highest classification in the country's grading system — reserved for lots with exceptional bean quality and processing standards. This one earns it. A JARC-selected varietal, naturally processed and sun-dried on raised beds until the cup is alive with bright citrus, delicate jasmine floral notes, and a tea-like bergamot quality that's pleasingly unexpected. It's a coffee that works best when brewed slowly and given room to open up. On a V60 or Chemex on a Saturday morning, it's rather special.
