Piccolo's Coffee in Worksop, North Nottinghamshire has an unusual origin story for a specialty roaster: the business started as a handmade cake bakery in 1994, founded by Tony Brammer. It grew through local markets and agricultural shows before adding freshly roasted coffee in 2001. Piccolo Espresso Bar followed in 2011, and the business now operates exclusively from that location. The espresso bar has earned a strong local reputation and is described as award-winning. The roasting operation runs alongside the café and bakery, with coffee roasted by the owner. The range includes single origins from Colombia, Guatemala and Burundi, and the decaf is processed using ethyl acetate rather than chemical solvents.
