Manos DE Mujer Axola

A classic Huehuetenango [ checks spelling for the 100th time ] , full of dense sweet chocolate flavours and brown sugar. Still bright and vibrant when brewed as filter, but also great in milk to. Axola is a small Mayan Coop in Huehuetenango in Guatemala, this lot is specifically from the women of Axola, hence the name Con Manos de Mujer, or With a Woman's Hands. The Manos de Mujer certification aims to acknowledge the role of women in the value chain and reduce the economic risks for women that participate in producing coffee. Their work goes beyond coffee production and seeks to improve women’s access to formal education, prevent violence against women, and promote women’s leadership and rights in the community. We are so excited to have this coffee on offer! It felt like the perfect opportunity to have our first guest artist label, this one is from Liz Tregaskis, our long time pal and very talented illustrator.
