Daanisa takes its name from a sub kebele (a small local area) where 37 smallholder farmers cultivate coffee across an average of just 3 hectares each. Nestled under the natural shade of native forest, the coffee grows in rich clay and loam soil, nurtured by generations of careful farming. The farmers behind this lot are all trained in agronomy and post-harvest practices by the renowned “King of Guji,” Ture Waji, who oversees the region’s dry mills. Every lot is meticulously tracked — from drying start dates to daily moisture recordings — ensuring consistency, balance, and exceptional quality. The result? A sensory explosion of flavour — peach, blackcurrant, red apple, and pink peppercorn, with a luscious sweet caramel finish.
