Workshop Coffee opened in London in April 2011 and has operated since then as an integrated specialty business across sourcing, roasting, cafe operations and wholesale. The model is built around the idea that quality at the cup requires involvement at every stage, from repeated direct visits to producing farms through to running its own award-winning cafes and coffeebars across the capital. The roastery operates what it describes as a quality cycle: better producer prices enabling reinvestment and training at farm level, which generates better coffee year on year. Workshop has a dedicated cafe and academy in Belgravia, and releases named lots including a Pinnacle series for high-end single-variety coffees. The business runs subscriptions, retail and wholesale alongside its physical locations.
