Headed by Alejandro Valiente and his daughters, Monica and Valeria, the family has been rooted in coffee since 1890. Their farm, Anarquía, is planted with Bourbon, Pacas, Pacamara, and Typica and through Cafenor, they support over 65 smallholder farmers across the region. Their mission is simple: empower producers, elevate quality, and operate sustainably. From providing shared access to post-harvest infrastructure, fertiliser and training, to marketing coffees to the global speciality market, Cafenor is redefining what community-led coffee production can achieve. At the mill, all coffees, washed, honey, or natural, are dried on shaded African beds, ensuring clarity and consistency. Sustainability is core to their philosophy: 100% solar-powered energy Carbon-neutral certification through geothermal partnership (LaGeo) Water-conserving practices during processing
