This sumptuous Guatemalan coffee has a caramelised apple sweetness, with a smooth body, chocolate orange flavour and gentle acidity. Grown in Finca Nueva Granada, a third-generation family farm, owned by the Nottebohm family since 1984. What began as a coffee importing business has blossomed into a fully integrated operation, where coffee is cultivated, processed, and prepared for export all in one place. Run today by Dieter and Holly Nottebohm, the farm is as much about community as it is about coffee. Around 32 families live on-site, supported by essential infrastructure including schools, housing, a health clinic, and shared spaces. The farm also opens its doors to neighbouring communities and seasonal workers, creating a hub of opportunity and connection. Education plays a big role here too, with scholarships provided to children from nearby villages. From cherry to shipment, every stage happens at origin. With both wet and dry milling on the farm, quality is carefully controlled at every step before the coffee leaves for export. Nueva Granada has long been committed to sustainability. An early adopter of Rainforest Alliance standards in Central America, the farm continues to prioritise environmental stewardship today, with areas of preserved forest and mindful water management practices helping to protect the land for future generations.
