A classic Tanzanian AA that reminds you exactly why washed East African coffees earned their reputation. This one comes from Ngila Estate in Karatu is brought to you by our long term partners in Uganda, Omwani, and is grown high in the northern Tanzanian highlands, grown between 1600 and 1700 masl. Made up entirely of the Kent (AA) varietal, a hardy variety long grown across East Africa and prized for its clean, expressive cup. Fully washed with a 12-hour fermentation, it's precise and controlled without ever feeling flat. Everything here is about clarity: bright fruit up front, a delicate structure, and that unmistakable tea-like finish the region does so well. On filter — V60, AeroPress, Ratio Six — it's all white grape and ripe guava, juicy and aromatic, before settling into a soft black tea finish that lingers beautifully - like sipping a nice Oolong tea on the continent. Light-bodied, elegant and endlessly drinkable. This is where it really shines. On espresso, it tightens into something sweeter and more concentrated — stewed white grape with a gentle citrus lift, and that black tea character carrying the finish. Bright and lively rather than heavy, so it's best enjoyed straight or pulled long if you want to stretch it out. If you like your coffee clean, aromatic and quietly complex rather than big and bold, this one will hit the mark.
