SANCTUARY BLEND
Description SANCTUARY – OUR BESTSELLING COFFEE Tasting Notes: Dark Chocolate – Praline – Caramel Roast Degree: Medium Process: Natural – Washed Origin: Brazil Varietal: Mixed Elevation: 800- 1650 masl BRIGHTON’S FAVOURITE COFFEE 💃 Find Refuge in our Sanctuary blend. Created with carefully selected single estate Central & South American coffees. We’ve been roasting this blend to the same flavour profile since 2000, it’s our best selling coffee and always has been. This is the blend that you may have been drinking in cafes right across Brighton & Hove. Direct to us from the farm and a great all rounder with a taste profile that remains consistent year in, year out. Simply a smooth easy drinking cup of joe. The coffees that make up Sanctuary change from year to year. Currently, Sanctuary is a blend of two different Brazilian coffees. Dbarbosa – We’ve been bringing over coffee from our friends at Dbarbosa for a long time now and its amazing to see over that time how the family have moved into the top 10 coffees in Brazil. They were recently awarded the CUP OF EXCELLENCE 2024 – the best of the best. This current lot is a beautiful naturally fermented red catuai. Grown at Sucuri farm in the Coromandel region of Minas Gerais at 1,100 metres altitude, it’s exceptionally sweet and clean with rich chocolate notes. We visited a couple of years ago, it’s a very long drive from Sao Paulo (very!) and on arrival much drinking ensued! Danilo set up the business which is now run between him and his sons and they have their beautiful ‘waterfall’ farm with three principal growing areas in the Minas Gerais area (General Mines). A small loyal workforce bring in the harvest each year and they have an incredible crop, really indicative of the area and we have tasted and shipped the finest lots. Afonso Donizetti Silva – This coffee comes from a new partnership with Minasul , a medium-sized cooperative. Minasul cleverly uses coffee contracts to empower producers beyond just themselves. Moving forward, we’ll be collaborating with another local roaster to purchase a couple of full containers of coffee from Minasul each year. This new partnership will help provide more stability for both producers and us, especially given the significant rise in coffee prices over the past two years, which have doubled or tripled per sack. This current lot is from Afonso in Minas Gerais, Elói Mendes. The history of the farm began with Afonso’s father, Jaci, who always saw farming as a way of life. Fr
