Ipanema Yellow Bourbon Medium Roast
From one of Brazil’s most well known coffee estates, the Ipanema Yellow Bourbon delivers a rich and complex flavour profile that showcases the best of Brazilian coffee craftsmanship. For me, this is the quintessential Brazilian coffee. The Bourbon variety revolutionised the global perception of Brazilian coffee, raising its status to speciality-grade. Originally cultivated on the island of Réunion (then known as Bourbon Island) in the early 18th century, the variety made its way to Brazil about 40 years later, carried by French settlers. Carefully cultivated at the Guima Estate in Sul de Minas Gerais, this coffee bean is exclusively a Yellow Bourbon variety, offering a well balanced cup with a velvety body. The smooth, rounded flavour is further enhanced by the pulped natural process, which accentuates its sweetness while maintaining clarity and depth.
