Tarime
This Tanzanian is absolutely delicious as filter/cafetiere being sweet and bright with flavours of blueberry and pineapple Tarime is a vibrant district in the Mara Region of northern Tanzania, near the border with Kenya, it acts a gateway to the Serengeti National Park, and is known for its proximity to the Mara River. While Tanzania is mostly known for washed coffees, the Tarime district specialises in natural process coffees. Cherries are harvested by hand, and sorted before making their way to the flotation tanks. Once floated to remove any floaters (the less dense, imperfect cherries), they ferment for 12-16 hours in a water filled tank. Cherries are then dried on raised beds for between 4-5 weeks where they are regularly raked and turned to ensure even drying. Great as filter/cafetiere, makes a very bright, sweet espresso
