Bolivia Finca Floripondio
Unavailable About Profile The Rodríguez family have four farms in the Samaipata region of Bolivia. The climate here is much cooler than the more traditional coffee growing area of Caranavi and these conditions combined with the unique mix of rocky and clay soil, and large differential between day and night temperatures, results in a slow maturation period for the coffee cherry and a long harvest season. Coffee from the family farms in Samaipata including Finca Floripondio is processed at Finca El Fuerte. Floripondio has over 50 varietals planted and is the family’s coffee nursery and testing ground. The unique soil profile in Samaipata does make the area susceptible to landslides. These devastating events can cause immense damage especially when there is an abundance of rain. The family have planted pine and grevillea to improve the stability of the terrain on the farms.
