Lalesa

A specially prepared micro-lot, cultivated and harvested by small-holders growing coffee in Gedeb. The farmers are supported by Ephta Coffee who own and operate Lalesa washing station, where our selection was quality-sorted before processing by a dedicated team. The coffee cherries were shade-dried on raised beds under forest canopy for around twenty five days. During the process the coffee is hand-turned every fifteen minutes - ensuring even drying and consistent quality. Ephtah are a women-led exporter founded by Wubit Bekele, under her guidance they’re committed to building sustainable communities with a special focus on empowering women in Ethiopia’s coffee sector.
