Rugamba
Rugamba comes from the shores of Lake Kivu in Rwanda, where the Rugamba wet mill sits at the heart of Rutsiro ’ s rolling, volcanic hills. Built in 2009 and revived in 2016 after a period of inactivity, the station now works with over 1,500 smallholder farmers, carefully processing cherries grown in rich, high-altitude terroir. Each cherry is hand delivered to the station, floated to remove defects, and then depulped. Fermentation happens in tanks before the coffee is laid out on raised beds, where it slowly dries over 20–25 days. This patient, traditional approach helps preserve clarity while building depth and sweetness in the cup. Rugamba is a Red Bourbon lot grown at 1520 masl and showcases the clean, structured character Rwanda is known for. It has notes of lime, blood-orange with delicate floral notes.
