Seasonal Espresso

Rich, indulgent and classic vibes from our second lot from Fazenda São Mateus this season. We're getting something reminescent of black forest gateaux. Excellent with or without milk! Process Natural Varietal Icatu & Mundo Novo Altitude 1300 m.a.s.l. Tasting notes Cherry - Praline - Caramel São Lourenço is a distinguished coffee farm located in Cerrado Mineiro – Varjão de Minas. São Lourenço is part of The Guima Estate Coffee, which is formed by 3 different farms within the same micro climate but each one carrying different terroirs. The name "GUIMA" is derived from the surname of the GUIMARAES family. Spanning an impressive area with 3,375,000 coffee trees, São Lourenço sits at an altitude of 1,032 meters above sea level and is certified Rain Forrest Alliance. The coffee varieties grown at São Lourenço are different Bourbon Amarelo, Icatu, Catuai, IPR 100, Paraiso MG2, Tupi RN 125, Mundo Novo, and Geisha and the harvest period extends from May to August. São Lourenço employs various processing methods, including natural, fully-washed, black and red honey, semi-washed, and innovative anaerobic fermentation techniques where the fermentation time ranges from 24 to 110 hours. The coffee is dried in multiple ways such as on concrete patio, mechanical dryers, and shaded drying beds on terraces over a period of 2 to 10 days. The farm uses a mix of cattle and poultry manure, organic compost, coffee straw, and planting cover mix to nourish the sandy- clay soil. The farm's workforce consists of 66 employees, most of whom are family members (husband, wife, siblings). To protect the environment, São Lourenço utilizes organic fertilizers, plants trees within coffee plantations, practices level planting in areas with slopes, uses cover plants for nutrient cycling, and maintains a forest reserve. The property was acquired by Mr. Flavio Guimaraes in 1978 to plant coffee and raise cattle. In 2008, the enterprise transformed from commodity coffee to producing specialty and sustainable coffees. The carbon footprint from this coffee's journey has been offset twice. This includes boiling your kettle to brew it. The packaging is biodegradable and recyclable. Delivery is free. One love.
