April Showers
COLOMBIA • RIO BAMISA • YELLOW GEISHA • NATURAL A naturally processed Yellow Geisha from Río Bamisa, Acevedo, Huila , grown by a small group of pioneering family producers. Named after the Bamisa River that runs through Acevedo’s valleys, this lot comes from around 12 smallholder farmers working to explore precision harvesting and innovative fermentation. Alongside exotic cultivars such as Geisha, Ombligon, Caturron, and Laurina, these producers focus on clarity, balance, and expression, shaping some of the region’s most refined coffees. Yellow Geisha, a rare colour mutation of the celebrated Geisha variety first identified in Ethiopia’s Gori Gesha forest, is prized for its vibrant aromatics, delicate body, and high cup complexity. In Acevedo’s high-altitude terroir, it reveals jasmine and citron up front, followed by grapefruit, lime, soft cherry sweetness, and a clean, tea-like finish. This coffee is ideal as filter, where its florals and lift shine brightest, though the curious will find a bright, elegant expression when brewed as espresso. It sits within April Showers , our space for single-origin coffees defined by florality and aromatic clarity. Each release changes, but the intention remains the same: expressive coffees chosen for delicacy, precision, and balance. Brew Recipe (Filter): Use 15g of coffee to 230ml water at 93°C. Pour steadily and aim for a total brew time of 2:00–2:15 minutes. This slightly lighter ratio highlights the coffee’s natural florals and citrus clarity, keeping the cup clean, aromatic, and vibrant. Brew Intent: Designed to emphasize jasmine aromatics, bright grapefruit and lime acidity, and a crisp, elegant finish. Best brewed with controlled pours and minimal agitation.
