The Rwenzori Mountains produce some of the most interesting coffee in Africa. Kisinga sits at 1,700 to 2,200 metres — serious altitude — grown by smallholder members of the Rwenzori Arabica Scheme who have farmed these slopes for decades. Natural process at this altitude gives you something dense and layered. Plum and cherry on the nose, dark chocolate underneath, a winey depth that lingers. Not subtle, not meant to be.
