Comunidad Queromarca
Tasting Notes: Dried Cherry · Dark Chocolate · Black Tea · Caramel Sourced from 22 smallholder farmers, this lot comes from the Aromas del Valle co-operative in the remote highlands of Comunidad Queromarca, Callayuc, Cajamarca, Peru. Traditionally known for sugar cane, potatoes, and livestock, Queromarca embraced coffee cultivation more than 20 years ago when the first seeds were introduced. Thanks to its unique microclimate and fertile valleys, the region now produces exceptional coffees with remarkable complexity and sweetness. At 1,900m above sea level, this coffee thrives in the cool mountain air and nutrient-rich soils of the northern Peruvian Andes. The surrounding biodiversity—ranging from dense forests to the pristine waters of the nearby Viluco Waterfall—creates a natural harmony that reflects in every cup. Peru has a long history of producing outstanding coffee. As early as 1897, the Belgian consul in Lima described Peruvian coffee as “delicious.” More than a century later, Peru remains a global leader in organic and specialty coffee production, celebrated for its clean profiles and distinct regional character.
