Rare
A juicy cup defined by fermented pink fruit aromatics and a subtle chocolate finish. Washing stations such as Musasa Nkara have been crucial in allowing Rwanda to bounce back from the 1994 genocide and 1990s coffee crash. Previously, Rwandan farmers would sell semi-processed coffee cherries at low prices to middlemen. This system brought severe hardship to producers, many of whom abandoned coffee entirely. Today, farmers working with the Musasa Dukunde Kawa cooperative have seen their incomes at least double.
